Neon Run glows with new Virgin Money Giving deal

The UK will soon get its chance to experience Neon Run, with two events planned at Leeds and Sunderland in 2014. This ‘worldwide phenomenon’ is billed as the biggest night-time fun-run spectacular never before seen in the UK.

While Neon Run is designed as the ultimate night-time event experience, Sport 3 Event Management UK, organiser of Neon Run UK is committed to giving back to the community and raising money for numerous charities, and as such has entered into an exclusive partnership with Virgin Money Giving as the official fundraising website of Neon Run.

Virgin Money Giving is the not-for-profit online fundraising arm of Virgin Money. It was established in 2009 and in June 2014 announced that it had helped fundraisers to raise more than £250 million.

Jo Barnett, Executive Director of Virgin Money Giving said, “Virgin Money Giving has established some great partnerships since our launch and we’re delighted to be linking up with Neon Run. Our not-for-profit business model and low fees mean that we can help to ensure more of the funds raised go direct to the charities registered with us. Best wishes to all participants for the run and of course for their fundraising efforts.”

Shane Smith, Managing Director at Sport 3 Event Management UK explained that the company is very socially conscious and aware that events like Neon Run have the capacity to make a difference by raising significant funds for a vast array of charities.

“Every participant has the opportunity to create their own fundraising page and raise funds for our preferred charities or their own favourite charity via Virgin Money Giving and engage their friends, family and colleagues in their Neon Run experience, which we strongly encourage,” said Smith.

Neon Run is a 5K ‘night-time spectacular’ run with four unique on-course neon zones of rock, disco, pop and iconic British music – featuring lasers, black lights, strobes, dancers and DJs to keep runners entertained along the course. Neon Run events are currently held across Australia and South America and attract more than 10,000 people to each ‘neon-charged’ event.

The event format is set to light up the UK with the fun run, dance party on Saturday 18 October 2014 in Leeds and Saturday 25 October 2014 in Sunderland.

Entries for Neon Run UK are now open at the event website neonrun.org.uk. Participants can enter as individuals or as part of a team of four or more friends and family. Teams of four or more registering together receive a 10% discount on entry fees. Due to the popularity of Neon Run events, participants are encouraged to enter soon in order to avoid missing out.
