British cycling brand, VO2, has launched a new, full carbon road bike, at the ‘very tasty price’ of £999. The VO2:VESP is the latest model to roll off the production lines of the Kent-based outfit led by owner and Chief Designer Jimmy George; and it is the company’s first to be set at the attractive sub-£1k price point.
The new VO2:VESP marks the result of the company’s objective to bring quality carbon and high-end design at a competitive price point. It joins the award winning VO2:Pro:Carbon, VO2:Revolution, VO2:Victory:TT and VO2:Versus:TT in the brand’s growing stable of race quality bikes.
Jimmy George, owner of VO2 Cycling said “Our range has been missing a bike with this level of design and a competitive price but with the addition of VESP we now have a very competitive product. The frame sits at the start of our bicycle pricing range.”
Despite the VO2:VESP road bike coming in at under £1,000, it is jam-packed with quality components and features, which make it an interesting option for consumers to consider.
The VO2:VESP has full high modulus carbon fibre construction and a tube profile developed for strength, stiffness and weight. The forks feature a carbon steerer for weight and strength gain with a tapered head tube for improved stiffness.
The chain stay has been developed with an increased depth for improved power transfer and the seat stays, have been reduced in profile for improved weight saving – all of which add up to more power, more speed and ‘superb handling potential for an exciting, responsive ride.’
The VO2:VESP features full internal cable routing and has been future proofed by being electronic and mechanical gearing compatible. The whole ride comes in at a light frame weight of 970g with the fork coming in at 340g and a geometry design to suit a variety of riders and sizes.
The VO2:VESP is also completely customisable. Riders can even customise the decals so that their bike matches club kit or riders can train, ride and race in the colours of their favourite football team!
Like all models in the VO2 Cycling range, customers receive a personal customer service experience. The VO2:VESP is built to order, with a free bike fit at the VO2 Bike Fit Studio located in Kent included in the price, or the bike will be assembled according to a rider’s measurements, which are supplied by the customer during the ordering process.
In the event that something isn’t to satisfaction, VO2 Cycling operates an easy returns policy. All orders are inclusive of free delivery in the UK and Ireland. The whole bike will retail at £999 and is eligible for the Ride to Work Scheme.
The VO2:VESP will be available to buy from 14 September 2014 at vo2cycling.co.uk and across bike and triathlon trade shows throughout 2014 and 2015.
