Triathlon Business International (TBI) is recognizing people and events that have made a difference in the sport of triathlon. The Ron Smith Award winner and the top five highlights for 2014 will be honoured at the 2015 Annual TBI Conference on 25-27 January 2015 in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles, California.
The award winners will share the stage at the 26 January ACTIVE Network Awards Celebration with the best retailers, products, Triathlete’s Choice events and the best triathlon media stories and photographs in the US.
2014 Triathlon Highlights of the Year Award
TBI is seeking nominations for the 2014 highlights in the sport of triathlon. To be nominated as a 2014 highlight, an event or accomplishment should encompass one or more of the following criteria:
- Broke a record;
- Set a trend;
- Did something that has not done before;
- Improved the quality of a life;
- Changed or made history.
Nominations for 2014 highlights in the sport of triathlon can be submitted by anyone in the sport, and all nominations must be submitted through TBI’s Highlights Survey Monkey form no later than 24 December 2014.
The Ron Smith Award
Named after Ron Smith, one of triathlon’s earliest pioneers and mentors, this award recognizes a man or woman who best demonstrates a combination of strong moral character and professionalism in the sport of triathlon and as an individual.
TBI is looking for the man or woman who is a role model in the sport, positively promotes and influences the sport, and inspires the future path for triathlon.
Submissions for Ron Smith Award nominees should include: submitter’s name, phone number and email address; name of the nominated man or woman; and no more than 250 words about why he/she is a candidate for the Ron Smith award.
Submitters may nominate one man or one woman.
