Tri Dynamic has just returned from its third annual sold out Tenerife Swim Faster Camp with Swim For Tri Head Coach Dan Bullock. This high attention camp has limited numbers of athletes and was oversubscribed in 2014. Athletes travelled from all over Europe to attend. The camp is positioned as a perfect opportunity to escape the winter weather and enjoy spending a week focusing on improving swim technique with multiple daily sessions in the pool and open water working closely with Dan Bullock.
The camp once again took place at the world class Tenerife Top Training facility where several of the best swimmers in the world have trained including world record holders Ian Thorpe, Britta Steffen as well as Team GB’s Hannah Miley and Olympic Triathlon Champion Alistair Brownlee.
It is easy to see why – with its state of the art 50m and 25m pools as well as the most advanced swim flume channel in the world, which athletes got to test out. Participants benefited from being coached by Dan Bullock and having their stroke video analysed each day to chart progress. This year the athletes also shared pool time with the Norwegian National Swim Team.
Swim Faster Camp athletes were supported by Tri Dynamic’s Official Partners including PowerBar, which provided a well received range of sports nutrition to sustain energy levels during the camp. They also received other goodies, such as a Huub branded camp T-shirt and a t Tri Dynamic swim cap.
9.50 Ironman and defending Outlaw Champion Vicky Gill was on the camp and ran an optional run technique clinic. Some athletes also found time to squeeze in a few bikes rides and climbed the famous Mt Teide volcano, which is the longest continual climb in Europe rising from sea level to 2000m in 37km!
Commenting on the Tri Dynamic Swim Faster Camp Dan Bullock said “Each year we have run this camp it has become more popular. The athletes get lots of individual attention due to the limited numbers. It is a great way to improve swimming by focusing on just one sport with multiple sessions per day. We had a fantastic group atmosphere and lots of fun!”
Verity Westgate from Oxford has attended the camp every year so far and said “Back for the third year in a row says it all. I know that I have taken away improvements to my technique which will hopefully translate to faster times for the third season in a row. When can I book for 2015?!”
Next up for Tri Dynamic is the sold out Mallorca Spring Triathlon Camp with coaching legend and author Joe Friel and 9 Endurance Coaching’s Will Newbery, which will take place at the BEST Centre on the Balearic island.
