The Broadmoor, a Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond resort, is inviting cycling enthusiasts to a memorable day at the Stage 4 Circuit of the fourth annual USA Pro Challenge. The competition takes place on 18-24 August, and invites the world’s top athletes to race through the majestic Colorado Rockies in one of the largest professional cycling events in the country.
The Stage 4 Circuit kicks off at The Broadmoor on Lake Avenue on 21 August, next to The Golden Bee and continues into Colorado Springs, beginning a 16-mile loop that is to be repeated four times. With climbs through Garden of the Gods, Mesa Road, and the infamous Ridge Road, cyclists hit some of the steepest pitches out of the seven stages of the USA Pro Challenge.
Following Stage 4, there will be a VIP reception and gala hosted at The Broadmoor, with special guests including pro-cycling commentator Phil Liggett, known as ‘the voice of cycling’, and NBC Sports Group’s expert cycling analyst Paul Sherwen.
The VIP reception begins with cocktails and light appetizers from 18:00 to 19:00 MT at the resort’s Penrose Heritage Museum, followed by the Stage 4 gala from 18:30 to 20:30 at The Broadmoor Hall, which includes a three-course dinner, a Q&A with top cyclists, and a silent auction featuring exclusive items from the USA Pro Challenge and the Colorado Springs cycling community.
Tickets can be purchased online, and are US$150 per person to attend the gala; and US$250 attendance to both the VIP reception and gala.
Stage 5 begins the following morning on Friday 22 August, and is a 104-mile race from Woodland Park to Breckenridge, featuring picturesque terrain and vigorous climbs.
Referred to as ‘America’s Race’, the annual USA Pro Challenge is one of the largest cycling events in US history and the largest spectator event in the history of the state of Colorado. The USA Pro Challenge continues to set records in professional cycling by taking the riders to unprecedented elevations. Featuring a challenging course, the fourth annual race will spotlight the best of the best in professional cycling and some of America’s most beautiful scenery.
