Bianchi is on board as the global sponsor of the newly expanded Eroica international series of bike events & retro cycling festivals. The new sponsor partnership covers six Eroica events to be held in Italy, the US, Japan, Spain and UK starting in 2015.
The new partnership between Bianchi and Eroica is seen as a good fit, as both brands share an authentic Italian heritage and communicate to an international audience.
The first 2015 event was the Eroica California on 12 April. Bianchi was on site at the event, in San Luis Obispo County, on California’s Central Coast, to present an award for the best preserved Bianchi vintage bike entered in the event.
In the wake of the bike models used by the legendary rider Fausto Coppi that have inspired the Eroica series, Bianchi will launch an Eroica vintage model designed and made in Italy, with customized components including Campagnolo 10 speed groupset and Brooks saddle.
Taking place last Sunday, 3 May, Eroica Primavera was the second race of the international project. In Buonconvento (Tuscany, Italy) Bianchi displayed some of its historic bicycles and also presented the 2015 top range road models, including Infinito CV and Oltre XR.2
