The Castle Triathlon Series has partnered with the UK’s leading children’s charity, the NSPCC, as its national charity partner for 2015.
Brian Adcock, Race Director for the Castle Triathlon Series, said “Increasingly, our events are becoming known as unique, family friendly triathlon festivals, offering people of all ages – some as young as eight – the chance to get involved in the sport, whilst raising money for a good cause.
“With this in mind, the NSPCC was the obvious charity to support in 2015 and we will be encouraging all those who sign up to raise as much as possible to help the NSPCC in its fight for every childhood.”
Paul Farthing, NSPCC Director of Fundraising, said “We are delighted to have been chosen as the Castle Triathlon Series’ charity partner in 2015 and are inspired by the drive to place children and families at the heart of this wonderful series of events.
“The money raised will fund our vital work, helping children across the UK who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protecting children at risk, and finding the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening in the first place.“
Taking place at five stunning castle venues across the UK, Ireland and France, the Castle Triathlon Series offers a range of race distances to suit athletes of all abilities from novices to elite triathletes – attracting children and adults alike.
Last year’s participants, including over 3,000 children aged between 8 and 15, raised over £150,000 for good causes, and Hever Castle in Kent played host to the world’s largest children’s triathlon.
Athletes that sign up to join Team NSPCC will receive a free fundraising pack with racing vest, training and fundraising tips.
For a limited period, the Castle Triathlon Series is also offering a 20% discount on race entry.
