This year’s Decathlon City of Salford 10K is looking to local businesses to sign up for the event’s Corporate Challenge and be crowned ‘the fastest 10K company in the North West’ of England.
The challenge, which takes place on Sunday 6 September, is open to all companies that wish to enter a team of three or more runners, with the first three runners counting towards the challenge itself.
The first team to cross the finish line will not only receive recognition as the champions of the Decathlon City of Salford 10K Corporate Challenge but will also receive a trophy for their team.
Race Director Graham Jackson said “This year we’re hoping for the same friendly competition between the region’s top companies as we have done in the past few years. This challenge brings companies together, whether they have a personal goal to meet, or if they wish to help raise money for their chosen charity. Plus it’s a great teambuilding activity!”
Teams already signed up to take part in the Corporate Challenge include Bupa Finance, Worldpay, Myerson Solicitors, Salford City College, Stretford High School, CTI Digital and Cerebus Group.
Following a scenic route around Salford Quays and MediaCityUK, the race is set to welcome thousands of runners taking part to raise money for good causes. This year’s official charity partner is Reubens Retreat, the charity set up in memory of 23 month old Reuben who passed away in 2012. Runners are also welcome to run in aid of any charity they choose.
Europe’s leading sportswear and equipment retailer, Decathlon is the Official Title Sponsor of this year’s race. Sixt UK will be the Official Vehicle Supplier, and Nature Valley will supply snack bars for all participating runners.
