Reuben’s Retreat, the Greater Manchester charity set up to support seriously ill children and their families, has been announced as the official partner for this year’s City of Salford 10K race.
Runners who take part in the City of Salford 10K on Sunday 6 September can raise funds for the charity which was set up in memory of Reuben Michael Graham who tragically passed away just before his second birthday.
Reuben’s mum Nicola, who founded the Mottram based charity in 2012, said “We are thrilled to be the official charity partner to this year’s City of Salford 10K.
“Our project is immense and support and awareness are key. The sooner we can raise more monies the sooner we can complete our renovations and help more families. We want to thank everyone who gets involved for choosing to be a part of Reuben’s new journey.”
Last year, the race welcomed more than 3,500 runners who took to the streets of Salford, following a scenic route around Salford Quays and MediaCityUK in Manchester, UK.
Chris Bird, Chief Executive of Sports Tours International, which organises the event, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Reuben’s Retreat as the official partner to this year’s City of Salford 10K event. It’s a fantastic charity that we are pleased to support.
Chris added, “Over the past few years the race has continued to grow to become one of most popular races in the region, and we look forward to welcoming a record number of runners this year.”
Runners can also chose to race for their own chosen charity. The winners of each race will receive a cash prize, and everyone who enters will receive a Sports Tours International t-shirt and medal.
