For its 4th edition the Natureman triathlon in France is rolling out its first cross triathlon – the Naturcross (1000m swim, 20K mountain bike; 8K run). The event organisers have also released a video to showcase the setting and scenery of Natureman, which takes place in the region surrounding the Verdon Gorge (Gorges du Verdon or Grand Canyon du Verdon), in south-eastern France (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) on 2-4 October 2015.
The mountain bike route was directed by the first French Champion of the international XTERRA off-road triathlon, and partner of the Natureman event, Nicolas Lebrun (with OrgaNICOach). Commenting on Natureman and the new Naturcross event, Lebrun said, “[It is] a race with everything you need: beautiful landscape, climbs, singletracks, gravelled descents, a section in the village of Aiguines, shores of the lake… We are preparing a cross triathlon that promises to become a reference point.”
With ‘an exceptional natural setting, and 2,200 athletes expected in 2015’, the organisers go on to point out that Natureman 2015 combines both a sports challenge and a discovery of the unique landscape, in an energy and atmosphere ‘like nowhere else’.
