Chpt. III x Castelli is a unique collaboration between recently retired British pro David Millar and Italian cycling apparel brand Castelli.
Castelli started its own comeback chapter with David at Team Saunier Duval in 2007 and then joined up again for his last 4 years. Castelli and David Millar have now embarked on a new creative collaboration.
Castelli has always focused on performance clothing for the racer, now the company is focused on ‘one very stylish bike racer’ as the focus shifts. ‘British-Italian fusion at its finest,’ according to Castelli.
“I’ve created a brand that will encompass everything I’ve learnt from my years racing at the highest level. Our first project is the most obvious as it’s what I’ve often been most involved in – clothing,” explained David Millar.
“With the help of my long term racing apparel partner, Castelli, we’ve created a line of products for my new cycling life, one which doesn’t involve racing, but still requires the highest tech available. After all, that’s all I know. The difference now is that I’m no longer willing to sacrifice style for speed. I don’t want to wear garish colours or large logos, I don’t need minimalist collars or fragile engineering. Instead we have brought a bit of bespoke tailoring and sartorial elegance to the world of high performance technical wear. This is the next chapter,” said Millar.
dm: Chpt. III is new, yet it already has a history. The name, Chpt. III, represents the third era of Millar’s cycling career. The previous chapters were written in the world of professional cycling.
Chpt. I ended with destruction.
Chpt. II found redemption and closure.
Chpt. III will be about carrying on the story beyond the world of professional sport, but in a different and unexpected way.
The Launch Edition of limited sets of the Chpt. III collection will be available at a London retail partner from next week. It will also be available at Castelli’s Eurobike stand (B5-505).
The dm: Chpt. III x Castelli collection will be available at selected retailers from late September 2015.
