EarthLink, a leading managed network, security and cloud solutions provider, has confirmed a multi-year partnership during which EarthLink will serve as the Official Technology Partner of the IRONMAN US Series.
From WiFi to safeguarding payments and tracking athlete progress, IRONMAN will ‘leverage EarthLink’s technology services and expertise to enhance the event experience for its entire community of athletes, families and spectators.’
“As a longtime triathlete and IRONMAN competitor, I’m continually amazed by the commitment and passion of the IRONMAN family, and am proud that EarthLink technology will surround them on race day,” said Joseph Eazor, President and Chief Executive Officer at EarthLink.
“Through this partnership, EarthLink will help IRONMAN boost its race experience with technologies that make the experience even more interactive, secure, and connected. I cannot wait to compete at the Little Debbie IRONMAN Chattanooga triathlon this week and kick off what I predict will be a very successful collaboration.”
As part of the partnership, EarthLink will review race experiences and work with IRONMAN to implement technology and network changes that will improve athlete tracking, event communications, and data security. The goal is to ensure that the entire IRONMAN community will benefit from these enhancements, including athletes, spectators, remotely located friends and family members, and on-site IRONMAN Village exhibitors.
“Teaming up with an industry pioneer like EarthLink who shares our passion for the sport of triathlon is a significant step in continuing our commitment to improve the technology at IRONMAN events,” said Andrew Messick, Chief Executive Officer for IRONMAN.
“With their expertise and the innovations they provide, EarthLink will help connect our athletes and spectators and we are excited to further enhance the IRONMAN race day experience.”
