With education being one of the top reasons why retailers attend trade shows, Interbike, the largest bicycle industry trade show in North America, has announced several new and returning areas of educational content at this year’s show.
The Mann Group returns with two 4-hour, IBD-specific sessions, and numerous tech clinics from leading component manufacturers including SRAM, Shimano, FOX, and Campagnolo are also scheduled. New for 2015 will be a much broader content offering from the E-bike community to be delivered on the show floor in Interbike’s new Electric Theatre, presented by Bosch.
In 2014 Interbike brought The Mann Group to the show to offer two, IBD-specific retailer education courses at no charge to Interbike attendees. Both sessions, condensed versions of Mann’s multi-day seminars, had all pre-reserved slots filled weeks before the show, and were packed to capacity. This year’s sessions, ‘Driving Performance & Profitability through Leadership’ and ‘GEAR Training – The Mann Group’s Cutting Edge Sales Management Program’ are set for Tuesday 15 September and Friday 18 September respectively. Retailers must register in advance at interbike.com/education/mann-u-at-interbike.htm.
“Whether it’s The Mann Group, tech seminars, or one-on-one conversations in the dirt at OutDoor Demo, our attendees are constantly learning about trends, products, techniques, etc,” said Pat Hus, Vice President of Interbike. “We are committed to bringing the most current and informative educational content to Interbike that we can, to help the betterment of our IBDs.”
Each year, Interbike tech clinics draw mechanics from all over the country to learn about the latest in gear and component technology. Campagnolo, FOX, SRAM and Shimano have numerous sessions on the Interbike Tech Clinic schedule each day of the show.
New to the list of education, both technical and general, at Interbike is the introduction of The Electric Theatre, presented by Bosch. Located in Hall E near The Circuit test track, The Electric Theatre will offer numerous e-bike specific on-floor seminars presented by PeopleForBikes, ExtraEnergy.org and Bosch. A few examples of the hour-long seminars include:
- The Dirt on eMTBs, presented by IMBA
- Guerilla marketing: Create a local e-Bike presence in an industry with little national branding, presented by ExtraEnergy.org
- Making e-bike access easier through state legislation, presented by PeopleForBikes
