One Step Beyond, the organizer behind the iconic Outlaw Triathlon in the UK, is rolling out its new Future Outlaws event, taking place during the main Outlaw event weekend in Nottingham on 25 July.

Open to kids aged 11-15 the emphasis is on taking part, and experiencing triathlon possibly for the first time. Young competitors will use the same swim start and exit points as the Outlaw competitors; use the same transition areas; cycle and run on the same course and cross the same finishing line. The distances are a 200m swim, 5K bike and 1500m run.

Event Director, Iain Hamilton, said “We hope that Future Outlaws will enjoy using the same swim start, swim exit, transitions and finishing line as the adults. Every finisher will receive a medal to wear with pride, and the emphasis is on taking part and enjoying the experience.”

He added “This is the first time we’ve put a junior triathlon on at the Outlaw, and it’s based on a lot of people having asked us to do something for the kids. Outlaw is a family friendly event with so much of the event all being on one site; so we hope that Outlaws of the future will enjoy being the first to cross the finishing line during the weekend.”
