XTERRA England has announced a key partnership with PowerBar UK that will see the international nutrition brand return as the Official Sports Nutrition Supplier to the major off-road triathlon and trail run event in 2015.
“I am delighted we are partnering with XTERRA England again in 2015 as it is such a great event and deepens our relationship with the XTERRA International Series, which we are support across the world, including the world championships in Hawaii,” said Jon Heasman from PowerBar UK.
XTERRA England is set as the off-road XTERRA English and European Championships and will take place 29-30 August in Cranleigh, Surrey, with PowerBar providing sports nutrition to over 1,000 off-road triathletes and runners across the event.
“XTERRA is such a unique challenge and it’s great our athletes on the day will be supported and powered by PowerBar,” said Dave Nicholas, Managing Director of the XTERRA World Tour. “Our athletes are taking on a big challenge at XTERRA England and they need a premium product and the best nutrition strategy on the day. PowerBar energy products provide all that and more. We’re delighted to have them on board again.”
XTERRA England will once again be the final stop on the 2015 XTERRA European Tour – and will also be its most celebrated as XTERRA England has been designated the one-day European Championship race.
The title means more prize money for pros – a US$25,000 elite purse – and an opportunity for amateur competitors to stake a claim at being the best in Europe on top of being the best in the UK.
With such a prestigious title and the biggest ever prize pot offered in the UK for an off-road triathlon, the event is set to attract international athletes and Olympians to the race, and offers amateur triathletes and first timers the opportunity to be on the course at the same time as some of their heroes.
It’s also the last chance in Europe for amateurs to secure one of the 50 remaining qualifying spots into the 20th edition of the XTERRA World Championship in Maui, and for elites it’s the culminating event in the 12-stop European Tour that dishes out an additional US$20,000 to the top performers in the series.
Registration for the triathlons and trail runs are open now with early bird and discounts in effect.
