Taking place in Nottingham, UK, the Triathlon Relays have the added incentive for athletes keen to win places at this year’s ETU Triathlon Clubs European Championship event in Nice, France, on 4 October. The two top club teams in the elite format mixed relay in Nottingham on 23 August will be selected to represent Great Britain.
The Triathlon Relays, 22-23 August, have undergone a change in format this year to accommodate elite style relays on the Sunday as well as the traditional format going ahead on the Saturday. The race formats are detailed below:
Traditional format – Saturday 22 August 2015
500m Swim – 15K Bike – 5K Run
Heats: Each team member swims in tag format, then each member cycles, then runs.
Mixed Relay format – Sunday 23 August 2015
250m Swim – 5K Bike – 1.5K Run
Heats: Each competitor competes a mini triathlon before handing over to their next team mate.
Finals: Team time trial format, all team members swim together, cycle together, run together.
