Zone3 – known for its wetsuits, tri clothing and accessories – has announce its continued partnership with Votwo Events, one of the UK’s leading events organisers.
Votwo provides challenging, fun events, coaching and sports science support to athletes at all levels; from beginners to professionals. One event in particular, new for this year, is the OTILLO swimrun training sprint series at Eton Dorney Lake. The event involves 6 swims and 6 runs in teams of 2, which can be male, female or mixed. Teams have to stay and work together for the race. Competitors also need to swim in their trainers and run in their wetsuit.
The UK sprint training series is seen as a perfect opportunity to try out the swim-run race format that originated in Sweden. (The name OTILLO means ‘island to island’ racing.)
The UK race series is designed to be a taster for those that are new to the sport or for more experienced ÖtillÖ competitors to use as training in preparation for ÖtillÖ UK or indeed the World Championships in Sweden.
Zone 3 has also produced a ‘specialist wetsuit for this new and exciting format of racing’, with the suit due to be released and available for purchase in June.
