Online multisport retailer Wiggle notes that its mission is ‘to inspire everybody, every day and everywhere to experience the joy of sport’. With this in mind, Wiggle has added another spoke to its offering with one of the first in-app news feeds on its brand new retail app.
Wiggle, ‘the world’s biggest online cycle and trisports retailer’, has just launched the in-app news feeds on its new retail app. This features a news and content section filled with hot-off-the-press articles, features, blogs and how-to guides.
According to Wiggle, ‘The user- friendly app will not only save time searching across sites for news but also provides customers with more great content from Wiggle alongside that of relevant sports news, immersing them in to the world of sport that they are so passionate about.’
Building on the success of its first app launch, the Wiggle app achieved over 10,000 downloads in its first week alone and has achieved over 100,000 downloads to date. Initially users can expect the new newsfeed to help them keep up to date with information on: Wiggle events, the Wiggle High5 women’s professional cycle team, new blog posts and handy how-to guides as well as product information from the likes of Gore, Garmin and adidas.
The service will then be extended over the coming months to include up-to-the-minute information from sports partners and ‘many other key cycle and trisports brands’.
Kate Walder, Customer Marketing Manager at Wiggle, said “We asked our customers what they wanted most from a retail app and a news feed was one of the top things highlighted. We are continually looking to improve the app and customer feedback is critical; their ongoing insights enable us to provide innovative and useful content. This, along with other new exciting features, will drive engagement, brand loyalty and a positive customer experience.”
Initially the new News section will only be available in the UK but plans are in place to extend the service to other key Wiggle sales territories throughout Europe and the world.
The new Wiggle app is available on iOS and can be downloaded on the app store. The news feed will be available on Android from the beginning of May 2016.
