Cycling accessories specialist Cycliq has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Duo Mount. The Duo Mount is positioned as ‘a lightweight, super strong & beautifully designed multi-functional bike mount’ that attaches both a cycling computer and action camera to a bike. Duo Mount has a funding target of AU$20,000.

Made from aircraft grade 7075 aluminium, the Duo Mount is strong and corrosion resistant. According to Cycliq, no other product available to cyclists offers the same level of multi-functionality at such a light weight offering.

Duo Mount is expected to weigh 50g including cap and screw, making it one of the lightest duo mounts on the market. The mount is also billed as being more aerodynamic than other duo mounts currently on offer. Cycliq’s patent pending design has a scalloped base to fit the mounting fins, making camera or lighting devices sit closer together with the head unit. Effectively this means the camera and bike computer sit closer to each other decreasing surface area and drag.

The Cycliq Duo Mount is designed to hold a bike computer on top and an action camera below. Unlike other mounting solutions, the Duo Mount comes with the flexibility to attach almost any bike computer without having to purchase extra adaptors or accessories. Supported bike computer brands include; Garmin, Wahoo, Polar, Cateye, Mio/Magellan. Riders can also connect any action camera or other devices (i.e. bike lights) that use the universal mounting system with the typical three fins.

Cycliq has a proven track record with Kickstarter with both Fly6 and Fly12 successfully funded on the platform. Both projects smashed their fundraising targets by 281% and 273% respectively.

Cycliq CEO Andrew Hagen said one of the main reasons behind launching the Duo Mount through Kickstarter was to reconnect with those who helped fund the company’s early product development. “The Kickstarter community helped build Cycliq into the company we are today and we are incredibly grateful for their support and enthusiasm,” Hagen said.

“In the early days, a great many people shared our vision for Fly6 and Fly12 and we would now like to give something back to those people as a sign of our appreciation.

“By launching the Duo Mount through Kickstarter, we’re giving the crowdfunding community first opportunity to purchase the mount and will do so at a significant discount. It’s a way of saying thank you for helping us to grow a successful business.”

Cycliq would like to thank early adopters of its products by offering Duo Mount to Kickstarter fans at a reduced price (the RRP for Duo Mount is expected to be £59).

The Kickstarter Campaign will run for 30 days between 1 November 2016 and 1 December 2016. Mounts for the first 400 early backers are projected to begin shipping before the holiday season.
