For those interested in racing IRONMAN Barcelona 2017, the road to next year’s event could lead through Herbalife IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia in Poland. Thousands of triathletes seek out the IM Barcelona event in Catalunya, Spain, each year but the race is typically sold out quickly. Now, in a cross-promotion between the Barcelona and Gdynia events, those who sign up for the 2016 Herbalife IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia, Poland event will get the priority entry for IRONMAN Barcelona 2017.
Herbalife IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia takes place on 5-7 August 2016. Registration is still open although there are already 2,100 athletes on the starting list. The organising team add that another 1,500 triathletes are going to take part in a range of side events, including ITAKA IRONKIDS, which takes place on Friday 5 August.
Gdynia in Poland is noted for its enthusiastic crowd cheering athletes through the busiest streets of the city as well as the seaside boulevards. Micha? Drelich, Race Director at the event said, “This year we are making the race even more attractive, with a challenging one-loop bike course leading through the picturesque Kashubian region and the finish located at the main city beach in Gdynia. This is going to be a lifetime experience for our finishers!”
Herbalife IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia offers 35 qualifying slots for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships 2017 and now also priority entry for IRONMAN Barcelona 2017 for all the registered athletes.
The organising team adds that the Gdynia has ‘some decent flight connections to the Gdansk Airport and… ‘you should not hesitate too long to sign-up as entries are close to selling out too!’
