Scottish apparel specialist Endura has unveiled its new Pro SL Biblong, ‘with the revolutionary pad width technology chosen by Movistar Team’.
Back in August 2015, Endura presented a global 90 day comfort guarantee on its ‘revolutionary and game-changing’ FS260-Pro SL Bibshorts. Previously, in 2014, Endura introduced a choice of three distinct pad widths (narrow, medium, and wide) to its flagship bibshort. The aim was to offer a new level of tailored comfort – technology that now has two Grand Tour wins to its credit (Giro d’Italia 2014 and Vuelta a Espana 2016).
For the new Autumn-Winter 2016 Pro SL collection, the same options are included for the first time in a ‘high-performance, full-length biblong, with insulated lining and windproof panels’.
Endura’s Product Director Pamela Barclay said that validation from the Grand Tour-winning Movistar squad, the UCI number one ranked professional cycling team, had inspired Endura to deploy pad width technology elsewhere in its ‘gold standard’ Pro SL range.
She said, “When we have the likes of Nairo Quintana winning the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a España with our 700 series pad, the logical step is to broaden the range of products in which that same pad width technology is offered.”
According to Endura, the computer cut, ‘continuously variable profile’ (CVP) stretch pad with antibacterial finish is only one part of the story with the new Pro SL Biblong. Thermal fabric, brushed on the inside, provides insulation. Further defence against the elements comes from windproof panels on the front and back of the legs and the groin.
Endura adds that, unlike some windproof tights, the Pro SL Biblong retains its elasticity, avoiding the ‘stiff’ feeling in the fabric of some of its competitors. By windproofing the upper section on the back of the legs, the Pro SL Biblong also helps to protect the rider from road spray.
Other details include a stylish, raw edge finish at the ankle, eliminating the need for zips or stirrups, and a reflective dot pattern on the rear of both calves for enhanced visibility. The bib is made from a lightweight lofted mesh, different from that used in the Pro SL Bibshort, to provide extra insulation.
As a final seal of approval the new Pro SL Biblong is backed by the same 90 day comfort guarantee which applies to the men’s and women’s Pro SL Bibshorts, offering customers a full refund if they are not entirely happy with the comfort of the product.

The Pro SL collection is Endura’s flagship road offering. The Autumn-Winter 2016 range includes the long-sleeved Pro SL Thermal Windproof Jacket and Pro SL Shell Jacket, the Pro SL Classics Jacket, the Pro SL PrimaLoft Gilet, Pro SL Arm, Knee and Leg warmers, and the Pro SL Winter Sock.
