POC – a leading manufacturer of helmets, eyewear, body armour and apparel – has confirmed that experienced CEO and broadcast media executive, Jonas Sjögren, will lead the company and become the new CEO for POC from 1 February 2017.
POC was founded in 2005 in Sweden, with a mission ‘to do the best we can to possibly save lives and to reduce the consequences of accidents for gravity sports athletes and cyclists’. POC adds that it has been growing successfully in over 40 countries by providing innovative safety protection for skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers and cyclists and has received more than 50 international safety, design, innovation and business awards.
Jonas Sjögren, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the TV and media industry, said “Getting the opportunity to lead POC, a global company synonymous with safety, innovation and forward thinking, is incredibly exciting. As a Swede I have watched POC’s journey and international growth over the last ten years and I am looking forward to supporting the mission and increasing its global presence in snow sport and bike markets.”
Jonas has more than 10 years’ experience as the CEO for multiple Swedish TV channels, where he has been responsible for all the activities of the channels. In his previous position, as the CEO for Discovery Networks Sweden, which holds brands such as channel 5, Eurosport and Discovery, he has been responsible for leading and supporting 200 employees and controlling financial activities related to a turnover of approximately 1,500 million Swedish Kroner.
Since October 2015 POC has been part of the Dainese group, an Investcorp portfolio company.
