American Bicycle Group (ABG), manufacturer of award-winning high performance bicycles Litespeed and Quintana Roo, has taken a step forward in continuing its growth path with a move into a newly refurbished larger building in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Backed by more than three decades of experience in high end, high performance titanium and carbon bicycles, and with the future growth of both brands in mind, ABG refurbished the new building to provide 38% more space than the previous facility. Located minutes from downtown Chattanooga, the new facility houses operations for manufacturing, assembly and corporate offices for the Litespeed and Quintana Roo team.
ABG staff completed the move-in mid-June and are reportedly excited about the additional space, which will provide for a new showroom, increases in frame manufacturing capacity, the ability to perform more complete in-house bike building and more inventory space.
“The new headquarters is something we planned for a variety of reasons,” said ABG CEO Peter Hurley. “First, we have great plans for the future and needed the space to implement them; and second, we wanted our quick responses to customer’s needs to keep pace with important process improvements.”
The newly refurbished building puts all functions, operations and offices in a single location, and allows for greater opportunity for the Litespeed and Quintana Roo teams to provide ‘informative, customer-friendly tours to those who want to see how a high-performance design and manufacturing process works.’ According to Peter Hurley, “the icing on the cake” is the fact that the building is just off the IRONMAN Chattanooga run course and a short distance from the Tennessee River.
‘Designed with a high performance future in mind’, the 40,000 sq ft facility is located at 4216 S. Creek Road in Chattanooga, TN 37206.
Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, American Bicycle Group manufactures high performance bikes under two brands: Litespeed (road, mountain and adventure bikes) and Quintana Roo (triathlon-specific bikes).
Litespeed is currently celebrating its 30-year anniversary. Its titanium technology makes it a leading manufacturer of cold-worked, cycling-specific tubesets, and which led to a partnership with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) to fabricate the wheels’ framework of the Mars Land Rover.
