As aluminum specialists, Low Bicycles is aiming to lead a rebirth of US aluminum bicycle frame fabrication. Where craftsmanship is concerned, the company adds that ‘these are truly the best aluminum frames money can buy.’
With its second-generation line-up of thoroughbred racing machines, Andrew Low and his team are striving to push the limits of what is possible for a small scale outfit to design and build in-house with aluminum.
Their process of shaping proprietary tuned and butted aerospace grade aluminum tubing yields an ‘aesthetically pleasing finished product with precise handling, comfort, stiffness and strength.’ Most notably, every frame exhibits ‘beautifully smooth welds that are second-to-none in the aluminum bike world.’
As a small batch manufacturer, Low Bicycles produces 20 +/- frames a month, allowing Andrew and his team to give attention to quality and craftsmanship. With a refined, responsive geometry and custom oversized aluminum tubing, Low bicycle frames are positioned as being aggressively quick and fiercely durable.
Established in 2010 by Andrew Low, the company builds all its frames by hand in San Francisco, California. Thanks to its in-house engineered and shaped FLEXshape tubing system, the company feels that there is just the right amount of give built-in when it’s needed to go the distance.
The Low mki road frameset has an MSRP of US$2,450. It is designed to excel in sprints and descents, or to go the distance for the grueling long haul. The frame is stiff, responsive and tuned for comfort.
