The Minions at Sufferfest have reportedly created ‘a brilliant new way to Suffer’ on the turbo trainer. They’ve smashed a number of popular Sufferfest training videos together to create three ‘new’ workouts that are ‘painfully familiar and terribly refreshing’.
The new mash up videos are available exclusively to Sufferfest iPad/iPhone app subscribers. (The Mac Desktop app will be out by the end of April, with the Windows PC app and Android coming in July.)
The team at Sufferfest have summarised the new mash-up videos as follows:
- ‘Revolver is Easy’: Take 11 intervals from Revolver + 2nd set from Half is Easy and get a world that completely explodes in misery. You’ll love it. Sort of.
- ‘The Best Way is Blended’: Uses a few climbs from The Way Out + all the Pain Shakes from Blender + 2nd race from The Best Thing in the World. It’s doesn’t start out badly, and you’ll experience pain shakes far fresher than you ever do in Blender, but it all softens you up for a massive, tear-inducing beat-down at the end.
- ‘Told Off By Angels’: Opens with the first set from Do As You’re Told + 2nd race from The Rookie + last climb from Angels 2015. You will never, ever be so glad to see the top of the final climb as at the end of this video. So, so hard. So hard.
With unlimited access to all videos, the ability to connect to HR straps and power meters (or train with simulated power), track workouts, share to Strava, TrainingPeaks, Facebook and more, the Sufferfest app ‘has changed the way thousands of Sufferlandrians train’.
The Sufferfest app is available as a 7-day free trial. Users can cancel anytime during the trial and ‘won’t be charged a thing’. For those that continue after the trial, it’s US$10 a month.
The Sufferfest produces cycling, triathlon and running workout videos. Videos feature footage from the world’s greatest races such as the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Diamond League Track & Field and UCI World Championships.
The videos, with workouts typically based on low-volume/high intensity intervals, are positioned as being perfect for time-crunched athletes looking for maximum results. With over 25 videos in its library, and a worldwide following of Sufferlandrians, the Sufferfest ‘continues to raise the bar on a world of pain for training!’
