The Adecco Win4Youth 2016 team of 73 ambassadors (39 women and 34 men from 37 different countries) are training to take part in this year’s Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon, which will be held on 16 October 2016.

The Adecco Group, based in Zurich, Switzerland, is a leading international provider of HR solutions and is backing the 2016 Win4Youth programme, in support of disadvantaged children and families.

Win4Youth is a global sports initiative organised by Adecco to raise money for youth foundations. The main purpose of Win4Youth is to ensure a donation for disadvantaged children and their families to improve their future chances of success and a normal life. At the same time, it allows Adecco employees to embrace some of the company’s values and keep fit.

For every kilometre covered by an employee, associate or client, Adecco Group donates money to selected foundations around the world.

Kenneth Gasque, CEO of the Ocean Lava triathlon series and race organizer of Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon said “This is exciting news for Ocean Lava Arrecife Lanzarote! To the Adecco team I say we are honoured and proud to be part of this unique journey.

“Lanzarote and Ocean Lava will be ready to be your host. We will be ready and nothing makes me more happy and proud, than welcoming you crossing our finish line as a Ocean Lava Hero, knowing you have reached your dream.”

In 2016, Adecco colleagues, associates and clients will take part in the three endurance disciplines of a triathlon: swimming, cycling and running. The combined kilometre count will be converted into a group donation to nine foundations, supporting abandoned, orphaned or sick children, helping families from disadvantaged communities and assisting civilian victims of natural disasters, wars and economic collapse.

Adecco employees will also be volunteering at the foundations, helping them in daily operations and learning first-hand how Win4Youth supports their work. Ambassadors also have the support of 32,000 colleagues in more than 60 countries that will also be swimming, cycling and running throughout the year to ensure they reach their overall combined goal of 3,500,000 kilometres.

Now in its seventh year, Win4Youth supports foundations giving children and families in need a better start in life. Since its inception, Win4Youth has raised over €1.62 million for youth charities through sports events organised in more than 60 countries, involving thousands of Adecco employees, associates and clients around the world.

Previous supporters of the Win4Youth programme include Kim Clijsters, Eddy Merckx, Marc Herremans, Florence Gravellier, Alex Zanardi and Nicola Spirig.

“Over the last six years, the enthusiasm and commitment to our Win4Youth programme has grown from strength to strength,” said Alain Dehaze, CEO Adecco Group. “Thanks to our passionate colleagues, associates and clients around the world, motivated by a strong purpose, we are able to give children and families in need a better start in life. And together in 2016, we will continue to go the extra mile to even exceed our new goal of 3.5 million kilometres.”
