Triathletes racing in RaceNewForest’s popular series of triathlon and duathlon events during 2017 will have help staying hydrated from ‘The Sweat Experts at Precision Hydration’, as the company has been named as the Official Hydration Partner of the UK-based series.
Precision Hydration will be providing training and race-specific hydration advice to participants in advance of the events as well as offering its new, triathlon-specific online Sweat Test to enable entrants to personalise their hydration strategy in the run up to their race. Athletes will then be able to pick up the electrolyte drinks that match how they sweat out on the course, as well as rehydrate at Precision Hydration’s Recovery Aid Station at the finish line.
Precision Hydration’s Founder, Andy Blow – a former elite triathlete himself with an XTERRA title to his name – explained that “The idea here is to allow athletes to use the hydration products they’ve been using in training rather than risking their race by just ‘drinking whatever’s on offer on the day’. They’ll be able to opt for the right strength drink for them, one that matches the Personalised Hydration Plan they’ve been following in training.”
RaceNewForest, which is run by husband and wife team Joanne and Richard Iles, has been hosting its popular triathlon/duathlon series for more than a decade.
“We’re delighted to have partnered with Precision Hydration to offer our athletes the personalised hydration advice and products that will help them achieve the performance they’ve trained hard for at our events,” said Joanne Iles. Richard Iles added “Jo and I both drink Precision Hydration and have known Andy for a while. It’s great to be working with another local company to make our events as enjoyable as possible.”
Precision Hydration will be helping athletes stay hydrated at the New Forest Triathlon/Duathlon events in April/September 2017, the SwashBuckler on 21 May (which will bear Precision Hydration’s name) and the The Gladiator and BoskMan Triathlons on 2 July.
