With thousands of riders taking part in a mass-ride, alongside a UCI-sanctioned elite race, Cardiff hosted a ‘festival of cycling’ on Sunday 22 May; and the Velothon Wales 2016 race will be screened on UK terrestrial television on Saturday 28 May at 06:15 GMT and Ch4+1 at 07:15.
With tough climbs and a backdrop of historic castles, both routes on offer took in some of Wales’ most breath-taking scenery, before riding into the Welsh capital for the finish cheered on by thousands of fans. The TV show will be presented by Rob Walker with race commentary by Carlton Kirby and Matt Stephens.
