Z hotels is stepping into the world of triathlon in support of top amateur triathlete Sophie Bubb, AKA the ‘Mum On The Run’.
The partnership got off to a strong start at the ETU European Middle Distance Championships in Austria on 4 September, when Sophie won a bronze medal in her age group. She is hoping to build on this success with support from Z Hotels, when racing over her preferred longer distance at the ITU World Long Distance Championships in Oklahoma on 24 September and the IRONMAN World Championships on the 8 October in Kona, Hawaii.
Sophie Bubb notes that Z Hotels has been very generous in its support – enabling her to train properly and to travel to international events with her two small boys, aged 1 and 2 years old, and her husband & coach Nick.

It has been an incredible 12 months for Sophie who had only ever entered local sprint distance triathlons before having children. In what was supposed to just be a ‘get fit again post childbirth’ plan, she made the brave decision to enter for Challenge Weymouth in September 2015 which was also the ETU European Long Distance Championships.
Just 6 months after her second son was born, Sophie was ‘astounded to finish 1st female amateur overall’; and in doing so, qualified to race as part of Team GB at the 2016 ITU Long Distance World Championships in Oklahoma.
As part of her preparations for Oklahoma, Sophie raced IRONMAN UK in Bolton in July and once again surpassed expectations, when she again finished 1st female amateur overall and consequently qualified for a coveted World Championship spot at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
Z Hotels focus on an ‘out-of-town price and the city right at your feet’. With hotels in central London, Liverpool and Glasgow, the company aims to provide affordable compact luxury, in prime locations.
