EKOI?, the French apparel and accessories specialist, has expanded its footprint in the nutrition category, introducing a new nutrition line that ‘adds to the already existing one and pays more attention to the individual taste preferences of every athlete’.
The products have been developed in collaboration with Romain Bardet from pro cycling team AG2R La Mondiale. The pro cyclist rides with EKOI?’s Corsa Light helmet for training and racing. Bardet will use EKOI?’s new nutrition line throughout the 2017 season. Meanwhile, from February 2017, consumers will be able to consult a nutritionist’s advice, whether regarding a specific need or long-term goals, on the EKOI? website.
EKOI?’s nutrition line is made up of three product-families: those for before, during and after activity.
Before:
- ENER’Dej, chocolate flavoured and with chocolate bits. 1/3 of the cake can be eated before each effort. According to EKOI?, ENER’Dej is easily digestible (eat one hour before practice), for a significant 530 kcal intake. Ideally served with a warm drink. Price: €12.99 per 400g tub.
During:
- ENER’Boost, an isotonic lemon flavoured drink with neutral PH, 365 kcal per 100g. ‘For a balanced energy boost, both rapid (dextrose) and progressive (maltodextrin)’. Price: €14.99 per 500g tub.
- ENER’Barre, apple-caramel or mango-pineapple flavoured. 115 kcal per 100g. ‘Ideally consume one bar every hour’. EKO I? adds that ‘Last but not least… it does not stick to the hands!’ Price: €1.99 per bar.
- ENER’Gel is positioned as an alternative for those who prefer liquids to solids. Available in strawberry or lemon flavours, ‘full of glucose and maltodextrin for a 80 kcal intake per sachet (1 per hour)’. Price: €1.99 per sachet.
- ENER’Shot is strawberry flavoured, contains fructose and sucrose, ‘but also caffeine and taurine for intense efforts (like climbs or sprints) and also B1 and B6 vitamins, which allow for faster cell sugar assimilation’. Price: €2.99 each.
After:
- RECUP’Drink is tropical fruit flavoured with a neutral Ph. ‘With a combination of sugars and proteins, to be eaten 30 minutes after practice in order to refill carbohydrate stocks and preserve muscle integrity’. Price: €15.99 per 500g tub.
- RECUP’Cre?me, chocolate flavoured and with chocolate bits. ‘Not only a tasty cream, but also a crucial source of BCAA, an essential protein burnt during physical activity’. Price: €15.99 per 500g tub.
