Entries are set to close at midnight this Saturday 24 June for the Fambridge Yacht Haven Triathlon. The event, based near Chelmsford in Essex on 2 July 2017 is a middle / half iron distance – 1.9km swim / 90km cycle / 18km run – and is open to individual participants and relay teams.
The Fambridge Yacht Haven Triathlon is an increasingly popular half iron distance event situated within convenient travelling distance of London and the South East. For 2017, the organising team at Dengie Events adds that it is proud to have been selected as a Triathlon England Eastern Region League Event.
The event consists of a 1.9km swim next to Blue House Farm Nature Reserve on the River Crouch, a 90km cycle taking athletes into the Essex countryside and finishing with a 18km lapped run based around North Fambridge village with support from the local community.
Based in the scenic Essex countryside, the Fambridge Yacht Haven Triathlon has ‘received truly excellent feedback every year since its introduction in 2011’. 2013 event winner Keith Brown had this to say of the event… “Noise from the crowd when I rode into T2 was amazing. I race around the world as a GB age grouper but this was something else… a great event.”
