IRONMAN, a Wanda Sports company, has partnered with OMNIGON, one of the world’s leading digital services firms in sports (and a subsidiary of Infront Sports & Media), to ‘design and develop an all new IRONMAN digital and online experience’. The upgraded platform is designed to drive engagement with current and new IRONMAN fans and athletes.
The brand’s new mobile experience is live now and features an image-based redesign of the main IRONMAN.com website. The redesign and format change aims to offer a better overall athlete experience on mobile devices including phones and tablets. Additionally, this relaunch features photo galleries, which are viewable on mobile devices for the first time.
Infront Sports & Media – which covers all aspects of sporting events, including distribution of media rights, sponsorship, media production and event operation – integrated with IRONMAN, back in late 2015, as part of the then formed entity Wanda Sports Holding. In 2016, Infront acquired leading digital service firm, OMNIGON to grow its footprint in the digital domain.

Christopher Stadler, Chief Marketing Officer for IRONMAN said “With the increased movement to mobile browsing, combined with our expansion into other regions and markets, it is imperative that we find ways to connect with our athletes and provide a platform for them to easily and quickly find information about our brand and events. One of our core marketing strategies is to improve our digital presence and OMNIGON was the perfect partner to help us with this. They are recognised globally for their work and we are excited to provide athletes and their families and friends with improved digital platforms.”
Igor Ulis, Chief Executive Officer of OMNIGON said “We are thrilled to have worked with IRONMAN on the relaunch of their mobile website. IRONMAN is a brand synonymous with dedication and passion; we are excited to bring this enhanced mobile experience to their incredibly loyal and captive community.”
Bora Nikolic, OMNIGON’s Chief Creative Officer added “We are excited to unveil the reimagined IRONMAN mobile experience, focused on providing the right balance of utility and content to both avid and casual users. The redesigned mobile-first site has been specifically optimised for mobile devices, capitalising on interaction and display affordances of smartphones and tablets.”
OMNIGON and IRONMAN are also joining forces for the upcoming 2017 IRONMAN Partner Summit, hosted at the end of the month, in Tampa, Florida. This annual gathering ‘enables IRONMAN partners and industry experts to collaborate on the upcoming IRONMAN season and share innovations in the endurance and sponsorship space’.
OMNIGON, headquartered in New York, and with offices in Los Angeles, London, Toronto, Kiev and St Petersburg, works with some of the world’s most celebrated brands including AS Roma, PGA TOUR, NASCAR, IRONMAN, the USGA, CONCACAF, the German Football Association and Verizon, among others.
A Wanda Sports Holdings company, IRONMAN operates a global portfolio of events that includes the IRONMAN Triathlon Series, the IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon Series, 5150 Triathlon Series, Iron Girl, IRONKIDS, six of nine International Triathlon Union World Triathlon Series races, road cycling events including the UCI Velothon Majors Series, mountain bike races, premier marathons and other multisport races.
