Having organised Challenge Kanchanaburi in the iconic Srinagarind Dam region of Thailand, on the banks of the famous River Kwai – Tab Agency, the official Challenge Family rights holder in Thailand, has announced a new race in the country. Set to take place on 25 June 2017, Challenge Nakhon-Nayok is being presented as a new race in co-operation with the Armed Force Academies Preparatory School.
Nakhon Nayok is a small tourist destination with many attractions and is located near Bangkok. The new Challenge Nakhon-Nayok will start with a swim in the Armed Force Academies Preparatory School lake at approximately 5m deep. The swim course will be 2 laps at 950m per lap. The 90K bike route starts from the academy and passes the Salika waterfall with a turn at Khun Darn and a return on a mostly flat asphalt road. Generally fast and flat, this course is approximately 32m above sea level and the highest level will be approximately 45m. The run course will take place within the Armed Force Academies Preparatory School consisting of 3 laps at 7K each. Again, the organising team point out that this course is predominantly flat.
“We believe that Challenge Nakho-Nayok will be another great challenge with a course to impress local and international triathletes because of the beautiful natural environment,” said a spokesperson at Tab Agency.
Zibi Szlufcik, CEO at Challenge Family, added “Thailand is one of fastest growing triathlon destinations in the world and we are enjoying an amazing development of Challenge Family with our partner, the Tab Agency. The new Challenge Nakhon Nayok is close to the capital city Bangkok, which surely will quickly become a ‘must do’ destination for athletes from all over the world. The scenic surrounding, easy logistics, beautiful course and the friendly hospitality are ready for athletes, media and the industry to share this experience.”
