The new SCOTT Palani road running shoe aims to support the economy of movement for every running style during daily training kilometres. The Palani is SCOTT’s latest addition to its road running product range and is ‘tailor made for runners who look for an everyday and everywhere training partner’.

The Palani is available in a neutral (€139) as well as a support version, the Palani SPT (€149). The latter adds an external heel counter, a quarter cage at the upper material and a Dual Density Midsole that provides support to runners who pronate.

With its rockered eRide midsole the Palani offers a roll from heel to toe. The midsole material, Aerofoam Infinity, reduces heel strike impact and contributes to the running efficiency concept of the shoe by guiding the foot smoothly through the gait.

‘Running efficiency for all running styles’
According to SCOTT, the rockered shape of the eRide midsole works with the body to promote a more dynamic running position for all running styles… ‘Runners who run for longer miles can appreciate the very efficient roll from heel to toe. Furthermore the special midsole construction allows fore-, midfoot and heel strikers to find the ideal platform for their individual running gait.’

New outsole and last
To provide the most anatomic fit SCOTT’s developed the Palani on a new last. With a moulded arch, the rounded heel area and an anatomically fitted instep, the last is designed to match a human foot closely for an optimized fit. To feel secure, comfortable and safe the shoe’s traction is also important; and SCOTT adds that the profile of the Palani provides grip on road, track and smooth gravel trails in the park.
