Trek Bicycle has reached an agreement to broadcast the inaugural Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Waterloo its website, trekbikes.com. Access to the livestream of the race will be provided for free courtesy of Segafredo Zanetti Coffee. The event, scheduled for 24 September, continues Trek’s commitment to ‘providing greater and easier access to world-class racing’.
In accordance with this commitment and as in previous races, Trek will be providing this stream for free to viewers throughout the United States. The broadcast is currently scheduled to begin at 13:30 US Central Time on Sunday 24 September – a half hour before the elite women’s race begins at 14:00 CT. The elite men’s race is currently scheduled for 15:30 CT.
“We’re working hard to reduce the distance between cycling fans and their passion; and knowing what we have in store for America’s newest World Cup, we knew we had to work to bring this to as many people as possible,” said Trek Events Manager Jon Vick. “This is not the race you want to miss.”
The race broadcast will include live commentary by broadcast veteran Steve Schlanger. “I can’t wait to see Waterloo for the World Cup,” Schlanger said. “As a lifelong Midwesterner, it’s terrific to see the sport at its highest level come to my part of the world. The crowds, atmosphere, and entire scene in Wisconsin should make it a truly compelling spectacle. I expect fantastic competition and one of the biggest bike parties on the North American cycling calendar.”
Outside of the United States, Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Waterloo will be shown on channels that normally carry World Cup cyclocross broadcasts.
