Verve Cycling in power play with Bianchi-owned Alpen in Italy

Verve InfoCrank M30 with new AERO Verve Chainrings 2016

Verve Cycling, the designer and manufacturer of the InfoCrank, has announced that specialist bike distributor Alpen has commenced distribution of the InfoCrank in Italy. Since January 2017, Alpen, a company belonging to the F.I.V. Edoardo Bianchi group, has taken up distribution across its Italian territory of Verve’s InfoCrank power meters.

Since the InfoCrank was released for sale globally, it has built momentum. Billed by Verve Cycling as ‘the most true and precise power device ever developed’, the power meter has been boosted by partnerships with British Cycling and Team GB, as well as the UCI World Cycling Centre. Towards the end of 2016, the company also commenced distribution of the InfoCrank in North America in partnership with the Endurance Sports Group (ESG) of Tucson, Arizona.

The InfoCrank is available in most popular lengths and formats. It displays a real-time output for the right and the left leg (independently measured) to any ANT+ compatible head units.

“We are delighted to be working with Alpen, Simone and his team,” said Bryan Taylor, President of Verve Cycling. “We were searching for a partner in Italy who understood the cycling culture. Who better than this distributor with over 30 years’ history, belonging to the oldest Italian bicycle brand? Alpen has an extensive, high-value distribution network and we look forward to bringing InfoCrank to a wider group of Italian riders who are committed to improving their performance.”

“The InfoCrank is a very hi-tech product with an impressive technological content,” commented Simone Barragato, Sales Manager at Alpen. “We just started its introduction to our sales force but the interest in the crank is huge. We are impressed by its great durability and the absence of maintenance. Plus, you don’t need sensors! Our goal is to bring it to the top 50 dealers in Italy, (at least one per province), within the first year of distribution.”
