As part of its commitment to encourage more people to enjoy open water swimming, Aqua Sphere has announced its sponsorship of SwimRutland, which takes place on August 12th on Rutland Water in central England, one of Europe’s largest man-made lakes.
Now in its fourth year, SwimRutland has grown year on year; and the organizers have been ‘commended for their focus on the safety and wellbeing of all swimmers as well as their dedication to ensuring that people of all ages and swimming abilities take on and enjoy a new open water challenge.’
This August, there are four distances available to suit the abilities of all types of swimmer – from the 500m Mini course for juniors or novices through to the 8km long distance SwimRutland course for the more confident and experienced swimmer. Wetsuits are compulsory and swim floats are supplied to ensure the visibility and safety of every swimmer.
SwimRutland organiser Paul Cowling, said “It is significant that a quality equipment brand such as Aqua Sphere has stepped forward to support our event and help us to reach out to more participants so they can experience the joys of swimming outdoors. Aqua Sphere is fully committed to and passionate about swimming and I would highly recommend their curved lens goggles which have won awards for their panoramic vision and comfort – ideal in fact for open water swimming – and their wetsuits which deliver excellent warmth, buoyancy and flexibility.”
He continued, “All participants are encouraged to check out www.aquasphereswim.com/uk to ensure they have the best possible kit to help them get the most enjoyment out of their swimming. Who needs itchy or leaky goggles for a start? The right kit is essential.”
