Professional endurance runners Camille Herron, the 2017 Ultrarunner of the Year and current 100-mile world-record holder, and Dylan Bowman, a three-time Western States 100 podium finisher, have joined the Epson ProSense Run Team for 2018.
Herron and Bowman will be using Epson’s recently-debuted ProSense line of GPS running watches, ‘built from Epson’s decades-long technical expertise’.
The technical features of Epson’s watches – including battery life and accuracy – are targeted at the demanding training and racing needs of athletes such as Camille Herron and Dylan Bowman. Herron, who applies her science background and master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science to hone her career, trains up to 120-130 miles per week.
“With a daily training schedule that tallies up to 60 miles per day, the battery life and technical features on Epson’s are a great advance for me, ” said Camille Herron, who recently won the 100-mile Tunnel Hill ultramarathon in 12:42:40, which is the fastest-ever 100-mile trail time – for men or women. “The GPS and general functionality of the watch are incredibly accurate, which is what I need most for my training.”
Epson adds that the ProSense watches are built to satisfy every type of runner – from beginners to world-class athletes such as Dylan Bowman, 31, who is a two-time podium finisher at the Leadville Trail 100 and is a champion of such diverse events as New Zealand’s Tarawera 100 and the 100 Miles of Istria in Croatia. Some of the models also have multisport capabilities and track activities such as swimming and cycling, which is an addition for runners that like to cross-train or who compete in triathlon.
