The organising team at Richmond RUNFEST in South West London are challenging runners to join the Laureus Hall of Fame this September. The popular running festival takes place on the weekend of September 15-16 in the area around Kew Gardens.
The organising team notes that runners are invited to raise funds for charity through Laureus and be with in a chance to join the Laureus Hall of Fame by posting a time. A release adds that that this year’s race ‘will see thousands lace up and take to Kew Gardens, but will you step up your game and do the double? Now’s your chance to race not one but two distances across the weekend. There’s prize money up for grabs and you’ll be crowned with some exclusive race bling too!’
Positioned as an ideal event for those in winter marathon training or working up to an ultra-race, runners can take part in Saturday’s 10k plus the half marathon or full marathon on Sunday 16th September.
Tom Bedford, Race Director said “Every year our runners want to step their challenge up a notch and the Laureus is the perfect way to test their legs and raise vital funds for charity. Why run one race when you can run two? We can’t wait to see who will top the Laureus table this year!”
Saturday’s flat and fast 10k takes place inside the Royal Botanic Gardens with views of the newly restored Temporate House. And on Sunday, runners will clock up the miles through Kew Gardens, Ham House and Hampton Court Palace.
Male and female prize money will be awarded for cumulative times in each Laureus (10k + half / 10k + full marathon), with 1st place: £150; 2nd place: £100 and 3rd place: £50
