En route to the TdF with Strava

Strava has confirmed that there are 19 routes on its platform for followers of the 2018 Tour de France who may want to watch the different stages in person and see how they compare to the pros on certain segments within each TdF route stage.

Strava, the social network for athletes, has compiled the 19-strong list, with the aim of supporting cycling fans. Avoiding busy and complicated roads, these routes are designed to suit all riders of all levels from novice to elite.

The routes involve key sections of the Tour – with supporters in France able to enjoy either a short or long version of each ride to suit their preference. With the specially-planned rides sharing sections with the Tour de France stages, ‘riders will experience the true demands of a Grand Tour’.

The proposed routes include famous race segments where riders can compare their times with the pros on Strava who have ridden the same sections, such as Marc Soler, David de la Cruz, Robert Gesink, Adam Yates and Thibaut Pinot.

In 2017, 60 pros from the Tour de France shared their stage rides (and training) on Strava, giving supporters a unique insight into what it takes to compete over the course of 23 days in July.
