To honour Mitchelton-SCOTT rider and European Champion Matteo Trentin, SCOTT Sports has created a specific design of its SCOTT Foil Disc bike, which is strongly connected to his European title. Matteo Trentin rode this Foil Disc for the first time at one of this year’s Vuelta stages.
Italian Matteo Trentin won the European Championships in early August to become the first Mitchelton-SCOTT rider to wear the white and blue championship jersey. After a difficult season in which he had to bounce back from a spinal fracture sustained at Paris-Roubaix, Trentin has demonstrated that he is one of the best classic riders in the pro peloton.
SCOTT has created a specific design which is strongly connected to his European title and his love for his family. The colours represent his European Championship years, but in more metallic tones to give it a more premium look. Within the design on the top tube are the footprints of his two kids Jacopo and Giovanni.
“Matteo proved to us once again that he is a great champion and a real fighter,” said Pascal Ducrot, Vice President of SCOTT Sports. “Coming back from two serious crashes and then winning the European Championships is truly an incredible achievement. It is great to have this jersey in our collection and we are happy to provide him with a special bike for this victory.”

The Foil has been SCOTT’s flagship high end road bike for a number of years. The Foil Disc for model year 2018 is positioned as an entirely new development. The company adds that ‘It combines light weight, aerodynamics, comfort, pedalling efficiency and now also control like no other bike currently on the market.’
A release from SCOTT adds… ‘The disc version has the same well-proven lightweight and aero frame as its rim brake version and is still amongst the lightest aero bikes on the market. In order to minimize air drag and to optimize performance in cross winds the fork has been completely redesigned. A one piece construction allows for a lightweight fork with increased stiffness.’
