Red Truck integrates velofix Build option for bike purchases

Red Truck, the online sports marketplace that ‘sends at least 5% of every sale directly to designated foundations’ and good causes, has announced a partnership with velofix that provides on-site assembly of purchased bicycles. The velofix Build option, which is already being used by a number of top bicycle brands, enables customers to schedule final assembly by a trusted velofix mechanic.

With franchises throughout Canada and the United States, velofix Mobile Bike Shops are ‘locally owned and operated versions of your favourite local bike shop’. Each velofix mechanic is required to complete a certification course that ensures they are experts in their field and qualified to fix and service all types of bikes. Through the velofix Build service, Red Truck notes that its customers will enjoy the peace of mind that comes with having a bike assembled by a certified professional and the convenience of being able to schedule the build at their own home.

“We want to be seen as a solution for brands to move their gear and have the confidence that it will be assembled with the quality expected by the consumer,” said Red Truck President and CEO Michael Bergmann. “The velofix service is already offered by many of the top cycling brands and we are excited to be part of that ecosystem for our customers.”

“We are looking forward to partnering with Red Truck,” added Chris Guillemet, CEO & Co-Founder at velofix. “Their blend of social impact with reliable goods offers consumers a unique and custom experience. That speaks to us and we share a lot of the same customer experience expectations.”

Red Truck notes that it actively seeks out partnerships with innovative companies that bring value and convenience to customers. Building on the integration of services through Bike Flights, an industry leader in premium bicycle shipping, Red Truck is ‘dedicated to providing a superior customer experience from door-to-door’.

The Red Truck website, which also features the inspiring stories of athletes and the work of partner foundations, will be updated in July with an improved user experience that includes the velofix Build service.

Red Truck is a premium online sports marketplace that enables athletes and brands to monetize their excess gear and to donate a portion of the proceeds (at least 5%) to the cause of their choice. In return, both Red Truck and the selected cause become champions for the athletes and brands, working to tell their stories and promote their accomplishments.

The result is positioned as a ‘reliable community that creates positive social change by reflecting on the deeper human stories within our celebration of sport’.
