Challenge Daytona is inviting passionate multisport athletes from around the world to apply for the 2019 Challenge Daytona Ambassador Team. The individuals selected will serve as emissaries and educators for the Challenge Daytona Triathlon Festival, slated for December 13-15, 2019.
The inaugural Challenge Daytona, dubbed ‘Best New Race of 2018’ by Triathlete Magazine, enjoyed enthusiastic support from a nine-person local ambassador team. In 2019, the team will ‘go global in an effort to spread the word of this exciting new event far and wide.’
“Our ambassadors are the heart and soul of our event,” said Bill Christy, Executive Producer of Challenge Daytona. “We rely on them to help identify what really matters to participants, and in turn we implement these features into the race. Our ambassadors are also instrumental in creating a grassroots groundswell around Challenge Daytona. On top of that, they’re exceptional people — the kind you absolutely want by your side on race day.”
The 2019 Challenge Daytona Ambassador Team will expand both in number and in reach, welcoming members from triathlon communities worldwide. Ambassadors will enjoy a number of benefits. These include:
- Entry into the Challenge Daytona race of their choice;
- A custom race kit from Veneto Sportswear;
- A custom podium shirt;
- A generous welcome package, and
- The opportunity to win prizes throughout the year.
In turn, team members will be expected to serve as passionate, positive ambassadors for Challenge Daytona and for endurance sports at large.
Their participation on the team will involve significant grassroots community outreach and social media engagement in order to encourage others to #BeAPart of the unique Challenge Daytona experience.
Applications for the Challenge Daytona Ambassador Team are open now through March 31, 2019. Applicants are asked to submit video and written components that creatively convey their desire to serve as event ambassadors.
The Challenge Daytona Triathlon Festival weekend includes the new Daytona Distance Under the Lights professional race, Sprint and Middle Distance Triathlons, the Junior Challenge kids’ race, Relay categories, Duathlon and Aquabike events, and 5K/10K run/walk events. The top six male and female finishers in each Middle Distance Triathlon age group will qualify for entry in The Championship 2020, to be held in June 2020 at the x-bionic sphere in Samorin, Slovakia.
