Boyd Cycling has expanded its wheel trade-in program to include any wheelset of any brand and in any condition for the month of October. Consumers can send Boyd Cycling their used wheels – Boyd covers the shipping – and get a trade-in deal of 20% off any Boyd wheelset model in any category: cyclocross, gravel, road or mountain.
As a 13-year old junior racer, founder and company namesake, Boyd Johnson bought his first road bike earning money by shovelling driveways in the harsh Western New York winters. Moving through the riding ranks, he often received help from older riders in the form of training, advice and even equipment – all of which left a lasting impression. In effort to give back in the same spirit, Boyd Cycling is introducing its trade-in program ‘where young aspiring cyclists are the real winners’.
“The trade-in is open to wheels of any condition, but we really want to encourage people to trade in wheels that are in rideable condition,” said company owner Boyd Johnson. “There are so many junior riders throughout the country who could use a set of wheels, even if those wheels are not the latest and greatest. We have contacts with development teams and shops throughout the country and are thrilled that, together with our customers and our dealers, we can all help aspiring cyclists.”
The October trade-in program expands on the standard trade-up program that was previously limited to Boyd Cycling wheels only. The new program invites riders to send in any wheelset in any condition – using a prepaid shipping label – for a fresh set at 20% off. All wheels will receive quality control, and if deemed in good condition with no cracks, dings or dents will be donated to a junior rider in need of equipment.
Wheels can be traded in directly through Boyd Cycling’s Greenville, SC facility or through the company’s dealer network. Boyd’s Trade in for Juniors started on October 1st and runs through the entire month. Bike shops who would like to participate in the trade in program, support local junior racers, or are interested in becoming dealers can fill out an online application.
Boyd Cycling wheels are available in the US through independent bicycle dealer (IBD) channels and are assembled in Greenville, SC.
