The GORE Wear R7 running collection for spring/summer 2019 is targeted specifically at long distance running. According to the apparel specialist, the range ‘offers supremely functional products for the tough challenges confronting long-distance runners.’
The company adds that its R7 apparel collection is eminently suitable for intense workouts and peak performances.
GORE athletes such as Britain’s Jamie Ramsey, Yoann Stuck, Amanda Basham and Zac Marion ‘ruthlessly tested these garments to make sure they’re fit for purpose’. GORE Wear’s new R7 running collection is breathable and quick to dry, with its ‘ultralight materials ensuring runners do not have to carry unnecessary weight, leaving them free to clock up the miles’.
GORE R7 Partial GORE-TEX INFINIUM Gilet
Available for men and women, the new GORE R7 Partial Gore-Tex Infinium Gilet is billed as being ‘exceptionally lightweight, ultra packable and highly functional’. GORE-TEX INFINIUM apparel equipped with GORE WINDSTOPPER technology is windproof, breathable and water repellent. A four-way stretch panel on the back of the gilet allows for freedom of movement while also delivering a high level of breathability. Ideally, for trail runners, the gilet can be worn over a small running backpack. Other practical features are the full length zipper and the seamless shoulder construction to ensure a backpack sits comfortably.
GORE R7 Partial GORE-TEX INFINIUM Hooded Jacket
Just like the gilet, the GORE-TEX INFINIUM jacket aims to make an impression with its weight, breathability and combination of comfort and protection. The stretch features in the middle of the back deliver breathability and complete freedom of movement. This also enables runners to wear the jacket over a small running backpack. More functionality is found in the adhesive bonded seams in much of the upper torso area, which ensures better water repellency. There’s also an integrated peaked hood with an elastic drawstring to help with good fit.
GORE R7 Shorts and GORE R7 2in1 Shorts
The GORE R7 2in1 SHORTS are lightweight, breathable and ‘barely noticeable with their airy, lightweight feel’. GORE Wear adds that the material mix is functional, breathable and quick to dry. Side slits give runners the freedom to move, and a four-way stretch in the built-in briefs provide support. The R7 2in1 Shorts are for longer runs and have side pockets to store belongings.
