HUP HUP HUP exhibition waving the flag for cycling

To mark one of the high points in cycling – the UCI Road World Championships, held this year in Yorkshire, England – an exhibition entitled HUP HUP HUP is taking place from 21-29 September 2019 in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

A release from the exhibition organisers notes that… ‘The passion of cycling fans is unquestionable. From following every minute of a stage to spending hours crafting homemade flags to cheer on their heroes. It’s the flag format we’re using to celebrate cycling, fans and passion. We’ve invited 9 leading designers & artists from around the world to create their own flag.’

The flags will be exhibited at the North Bar, Harrogate, Yorkshire, during the UCI Road World Championships. The exhibition is a partnership between creative studio Conductor, digital agency Hypergram and North Brewing Co.

Local brewery North Brewing Co will hold the exhibition at its Harrogate-based North Bar. The venue is located in a prime position in Harrogate along the course of the race, and will also be used as a base for British Cycling riders, employees and members… ‘This guarantees a significant amount of footfall to the exhibition.’

The exhibition will also include a celebratory evening on Thursday 26 September with a number of high profile contributors such as David Millar in attendance. The evening will start at 19:00 BST.

Prints and a commemorative brochure will be available to buy at the exhibition and online (from 21 September). Profits from sales will go to The Dave Rayner Fund – a charity dedicated to helping young British cyclists fulfil their dreams.
