Race week for the 2019 Vega IRONMAN World Championship has officially kicked off in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i and with it, a plethora of activities and events. The countdown is on to the main event taking place on Saturday, October 12.

Multiple locations for the Official IRONMAN Merchandise Store have opened their doors to the public. IRONMAN adds that, with a brand new experiential store in 2019, there is something for everyone. ‘Featuring over 200 IRONMAN World Championship products in 40 different categories from premier partners like Compressport, HOKA ONE ONE, Santini, ROKA and Ventum there are more options than ever before.’
While the IRONMAN Village at Hale Halawai Park will once again serve as the central hub for the athletes, their support team and the local community, the flagship IRONMAN Merchandise venue will be conveniently located at the Courtyard by Marriot King Kamehameha Hotel with an expanded footprint of over 6,000 square feet.
Divided into swim, bike and run zones, the stores will feature technical products for training and racing along with everyday lifestyle products, including the official triathlon and cycling kits by Santini, `Ohana swim collection by ROKA and over 40 styles of limited-edition World Championship hats and visors. Visitors can also purchase the limited edition Suunto 9 Baro Titanium IRONMAN Limited Edition watch which is limited to 1,406 watches, celebrating the 140.6-mile journey that makes up a full-distance IRONMAN triathlon.
The stores will also feature interactive games like corn hole, photo opportunities with the IRONMAN M-Dot logo and oversized KONA letters and refreshments.
Ho’ala IRONMAN Training Swim
On Sunday, October 6, the Ho’ala IRONMAN Training Swim saw approximately 700 athletes take to the Kailua Bay to get a sense of the swim course before race day.
The IRONMAN Foundation Service Project presented by HOKA ONE ONE
On Monday, October 7 the IRONMAN Foundation held a community-based service project with Hālau Ka’eaikahelelani, a school of Hawaiian culture. IRONMAN athletes, ambassadors, partners and staff spent the morning restoring indigenous spaces on the property of Hālau Ka’eaikahelelani and also presented Hālau Ka’eaikahelelani with a US$2,500 grant to sponsor ongoing programs to connect to the land, the people, the place, and the community.
The Vega IRONMAN World Championship’s week of events continues on Tuesday, with events such as the IRONKIDS Keiki Dip-n-Dash and the annual IRONMAN Parade of Nations.
