New website for Women’s Running

Women’s Running, billed as ‘the #1 resource for women runners’, has revealed an ‘all-new look and attitude for its website’. The new womensrunning.com debuted on January 15th, powered by adidas Running, with a ‘fresh design that is unique to the women’s fitness lifestyle space’. Women’s Running partnered with adidas Running to promote the launch of the new adidas Solar Glide shoe.

Award-winning web designer Daniel Boguszewski led the new design, inspired by the brand’s coverage of the women, tech, races, science and issues shaping the sport. The result is a fitness website that ‘stands out with an intuitive and joyful user experience’. This ranges a the statement-making homepage that is easy to navigate and visually stimulating, to oversized imagery and distinct content categories that enhance the Women’s Running experience on all platforms.

“We’re thrilled to introduce our new website to the world,” said Editorial Director Erin Beresini. “It perfectly showcases who Women’s Running is today: unique, smart, stylish and cutting-edge.”

The team focused on quality over quantity, stripping the site of programmatic advertising. The new design displays 3 to 3.5 ad spots and serves ads based on the user’s behaviour, ‘guaranteeing more than 75% viewability’. This cleaner look has reportedly resulted in ad and content engagement rates to more than double.

“We’ve stripped away the noise apparent on many women’s fitness websites,” commented Sales Director Shannon Standefer. “On the new womensrunning.com, brands can align themselves with best-in-class content, while avoiding getting drowned out by pop-ups, auto-play videos, and programmatic ads.”
