The 15th edition of Garmin Titan Desert has been confirmed for April 19-24, 2020. Next year, 700 participants are expected to get to grips with the desert and mountains in the Merzouga region of Morocco.
Due to it being a special anniversary edition, the organisers note that they ‘have surprises in store, which will be unveiled during a tour of France’s biggest cities.’ Registration is open on A.S.O’s time to platform, and a dedicated app has been created.
The Garmin Titan Desert will have its own stand at the Roc d’Azur event (from October 9-13, 2019 in Fréjus, France) before setting off on a tour throughout the country.
A.S.O adds that ‘With 600km over six days of physical effort and sporting pleasure in an idyllic setting, the Garmin Titan Desert is decidedly out of the ordinary.’ Over sandy dunes and mountainous climbs, whilst the stages underline the sporting challenge, once dusk falls, a mobile bivouac is a ‘haven of peace, where interaction and relaxation are the watchwords.’
The new dedicated event app will allow users to keep up with race news, view maps of each stage and receive information about the event via social. The app also allows family and friends to track their favourite competitor by entering his or her race number.
Following the expo stand at the Roc d’Azur, a tour to present the event will visit the four corners of France (Nice, Marseilles, Lyons, Paris, Lille, Montpellier, etc.). Scheduled between October and December, A.S.O adds that ‘adventure-seekers will be able attend these meetings in their favourite cycling shops.’ The exact dates and times of these visits will be revealed soon.
