3T is a launch partner for Campagnolo 1×13 EKAR – a gravel-specific drivetrain that claims to be the world’s lightest gravel groupset.
Gerard Vroomen, 3T Head of Design said “It’s been five years since my first discussions with Campagnolo about a 1x drivetrain, 9-tooth cogs and the future of road and gravel bikes. And to be honest, for a long time I didn’t know if anything would ever come of it.
“When they first showed me EKAR, it surpassed my expectations and while I love all drivetrain companies equally, I think it’s a good day for the bike industry and cyclists everywhere when more choice becomes available.”
3T notes that ‘Campagnolo 1×13 is a particularly exciting groupset for the 3T Strada, the world’s first road bike specifically designed around aerodynamics, comfort and a 1x drivetrain.’
The company adds that ‘Campagnolo EKAR with 13 gears in a superlight package hammers home the advantages of that approach. With a wide range of gears divided into small steps, 1×13 represents the future for road and gravel bikes and we’re proud that the 3T Strada is there to make the most of it.’
The Strada Team Ekar 1×13 is available now with a special Campagnolo paint scheme, Shamal Carbon wheels, 3T cockpit and Fizik finishing kit.
3T is also offering an Exploro bike with EKAR. The Exploro Race EKAR 1×13 is available in 3T’s new red/white livery, with Fulcrum Rapid Red wheels, 3T cockpit and Fizik saddle.
